After a couple people asking about everything Elena and I have been doing in DC, I've decided to take my cousin Bri's advice and write a blog about everywhere we've been and add pictures. I will start with where I work and then every night write about our weekends until I am all caught up.
I'll start by explaining what I'm doing in DC in the first place. I currently am a Summer Associate at the U.S. Green Building Council, working on the LEED 2012 Rating System. For anyone, which is probably everyone, who doesn't know what any of this means, I'll try to explain. LEED is a system to rate the "green" attributes of a building or development. They have been around for quite a few years and they are coming out with a new system in 2012. In order to get ready for this, they go through a long process and I've been assisting with minor things, such as formatting documents and quality checking content, but the experience is fantastic and I love the work environment. My bosses are very nice and fun to be around. The 10 weeks that I'm scheduled to be at this job are flying by. On Friday, I'll be done with 5 weeks of work!! Nuts!
Well I have quite a few pictures and things to say about the first weekend I was here, so I'll leave that for my post tomorrow night.
I CAN COMMENT!! Love your blog and seeing what you've been up to this summer!
